DPRD Chairman Marsudi Observes Two Flood-Prone Locations

Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi together with Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono together with their staff, inspected the location of the Pluit Reservoir Pump House, North Jakarta, and the Baswedan Embankment at RT 004/RW 006 Jati Padang, South Jakarta, Wednesday (10/19).

According to Jakarta DPRD Chairman, he visited the Pluit Reservoir Pump House to monitor the condition of the pump engine and see firsthand the residential areas in Jatipadang, which are prone to flooding.

"Earlier, we tried several tools to ensure their function if it rains," he expressed.

For handling inundation in Jati Padang, naturalization needed to be done, including an artificial lake at that location.

"We want the Jakarta administration to do this, as the naturalization and artificial lake need one or two years," he stressed.

RW 06 Jati Padang Chairman, Arif Syarifudin explained that of the 15 RTs in his area, 11 of them were always affected by inundation. He admitted, he had collected data on residents who wanted to be relocated.

"About 100 more family heads said they were ready to be relocated," he stated.
