15 State School Buildings will Be Renovated

East Jakarta Housing and Government Buildings Sub-Department plans to renovate 15 school buildings in East Jakarta. It is aimed to improve the quality of education and smoothen the process of teaching and learning activities (KBM).

All buildings would have four floors with supporting facilities

Those schools are State Elementary School (SDN) 14 Malaka Sari (Duren Sawit), SDN Baru 06 (Pasar Rebo), SDN 08 Cipinang Besar Selatan (Jatinegara), SDN 11/15 Kramatjati (Kramatjati), SDN 12 Kramatjati (Kramatjati), SDN 15 Klender (Duren Sawit), SDN 20 Utan Kayu Selatan (Matraman), SDN 17 Utan Kayu Selatan (Matraman), SDN 08 Utan Kayu Utara (Matraman), State Junior High School (SMPN) 44 (Pulogadung), SMPN 160 (Cipayung), SMPN 120, SMPN 232 (Pulogadung), SMPN 97 (Matraman), and State Vocational School (SMKN) 48 (Duren Sawit).

"We have sent the proposal to Jakarta Housing and Government Buildings Department," said Head of East Jakarta Housing and Government Buildings Sub-Department, Ujang Zainudin, Tuesday (1/27).

Zainudin disclosed with transitional of main tasks and functions (duties) and the incorporation of some regional working units (SKPD) this year, the renovation will be handed over to Jakarta Housing and Government Buildings Department. Whereas, it was initially the authority of Education Department.

He explains, from 15 schools, 13 out of them are a continuation of project from Education Department last year. As for two others, are SDN Utan Kayu Selatan and 20 will be renovated this year.

"All buildings would have four floors with supporting facilities," he told.
