Strengthening Synergy, Jakarta Bawaslu Meets Acting Governor

The Jakarta Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) met Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono at Jakarta City Hall, Monday (10/31).

The meeting itself discussed preparations for the simultaneous general elections and regional head elections which will take place in 2024.

Jakarta Bawaslu Chairperson, Munandar Nugraha said the election participants are set and scheduled for December 2022. Hence, the synergy between the Jakarta administration and Bawaslu needed to be strengthened.

"That's why we are here today, as the stages are already running. In December, there will be a determination of the election participants. The election this time is Pilkada or regional election. We start to build synergies going forward," he expressed.

He explained that one of the discussion points in the meeting was about the readiness of the secretariat room for the Sub-district Election Supervisory Committee (Panwascam).

“Yesterday, the inauguration of the Supervisory Committee was held simultaneously. Alhamdulillah, around 44 sub-districts in Jakarta have been facilitated with the Panswascam secretariat room," he explained.

His party would also receive a grant worth Rp 206 billion sourced from the regional budget for financing during the general and regional elections in 2024.

"Talk about a grant for Pilkada, we've discussed it with him (Mr. Heru). We optimize it for implementation," he added.

He added that the administration was committed to synergizing, optimizing, and facilitating in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

"Principally, everything we need in the simultaneous implementation of the Regional Head General Election can be facilitated by the administration. InsyaAllah, everything can be optimized," he stressed.
