Update! Floods Due to Heavy Rain Last Night in Jakarta Gradually Receding

Only one out of three neighborhoods is still inundated until 6 AM

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that the flood that inundated residents' houses in Jakarta has gradually receded since 6 AM Monday (11/7).

As reported earlier, three neighborhoods were inundated because of moderate and heavy rain that flushed parts of Jakarta yesterday night.

Floodwaters in 139 Neighborhoods and 10 Roads Have Receded

"Only one out of three neighborhoods is still inundated until 6 AM," expressed Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji, Monday (11/7).

He explained that flooding is still seen in Kembangan Utara Urban Village with a height of 60 centimeters

"While floods hit two neighborhoods that have receded in Sukabumi Utara Urban Village, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta," he explained.

His party deployed personnel to monitor flood conditions in each region. It is carried out by coordinating with the Water Resources Agency (SDA), Bina Marga Agency, and Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat).

"Besides sucking up water, we also make sure storm drains are functioning well by coordinating with the local urban village and sub-district heads. We're targeting the floods to recede quickly," he stressed.

He also urged locals to be cautious and alert to potential flooding.

"In an emergency, residents can call an integrated emergency services number, 112. This service is free and operates 24 hours non-stop," he closed.
