The connecting channel dredging work on Jalan Pekojan II, Gg. 4, RT 06/06 Pekojan Urban Village, Tambora, West Jakarta which has been conducted since November 2 is targeted to be completed next week.
Tambora Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit Head, Agus Purwanto said the channel that has 40 meters long, one meter wide, and 1.5 meters high is carried out manually by 10 workers.

He added that it is carried out by opening the concrete slab, then dredging the mud to 25 to 30 centimeters deep.
"After it is done, the channel can accommodate water maximally in order to minimize flooding when it rains," he stated.
