Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama threatened to give strict sanction to principals in the capital who play with fund of Jakarta Smart Card (KJP). This is because its distribution for underprivileged students must go through a selection process at the school level involving homeroom teachers and school committees.

That means, we will demote the principals if they try to manipulate the KJP data

"There will be no more data manipulation because the selection process lies in the principal, instead of relief letter (SKTM). That means, we will demote the principals if they try to manipulate the KJP data," stressed Basuki at City Hall, Friday (1/30).

He furthered that school committee's role in selection process of KJP recipient will be minimized. "Right now, they only serve as a supervisor," he stated.

Besides that, Ahok has instructed Head of Jakarta Education Department, Arie Budhiman to demote the principals or homeroom teachers who play with the KJP funds.

"I've discussed about e-money issuance with Mr. Budhiman. Thus far, he also had demoted 10-20 unruly teachers before," he uttered.

Former regent of East Belitung explains fund for 2015 KJP is increasing, because private school would receive higher fund than state school. It is based on the BPK findings on uncommon funds for the Education Operational Aid (BOP) to private school.

"In details, the underprivileged students in private schools received Rp 800,000 per month or Rp9.6 million per year. But the money can't be withdrawn in cash from the bank. Maximum use of it is Rp 50 thousand per week as transportation cost," he uttered.
