Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, visited the Pulomas Pump House in the Ria Rio Reservoir, Kayu Putih, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta, Thursday (11/17) morning

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar explained that the construction of the Ria Rio Reservoir and the pump house is very helpful in dealing with floods in the surrounding area.
"This is very helpful in handling floods in the downstream area. Moreover, there is already a pump house here, surely this is very helpful," he expressed.
He added that the East Jakarta administration also intensifies to dredge the reservoirs, starting from Wadung Cimanggis, Pondok Ranggon, Wira Jasa, Munjul, Cilangkap Tour Long Storage Angro, and so forth.
"We thank you for the visit of the Acting Governor to the Ria Rio Reservoir. Here, the downstream is the water flow meets the upstream. The location is opposite North Jakarta," he explained.
Jakarta SDA Agency Head, Yusmada Faizal added that the pump house in this reservoir will be equipped with three units of water pumping machines with a total capacity of 5.5 cubic meters per second.
According to him, the Pulomas Pump House in the Ria Rio Reservoir is to deal with inundation on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Jalan Pemuda, Kampung Ambon, and Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan with a 640-hectare land.
"This pump house is still under construction. Hopefully, it will be operational in the upcoming January 2023. Currently, the construction progress is 80 percent," he uttered.
Kayu Putih Urban Village Head, Tuti Sugihastuti stated that the Ria Rio Reservoir is very helpful in overcoming inundation in his area. There were previously four areas prone to inundation and now was only one area, namely in RW 15 Kayu Putih. Hopefully, it will be free of inundation in the future.
"Alhamdulillah, with these reservoirs and pump house, we can handle the inundation maximally," she concluded.
