The Jakarta Provincial Government is the only province that has won the Indonesian Digital Competitiveness Appreciation in the Provincial Best Practices category based on the East Ventures Digital Competitiveness Index 2022.

According to him, the Jakarta Government is accelerating urban digital transformation as part of managing the smart city ecosystem. It is by the central government's direction covering digital infrastructure, digital society, digital government, and digital economy.
"With the title of Best Practices in EV-DCI 2022, it proves that Jakarta is a barometer of digital transformation in Indonesia for sustainable development programs. In other words, Jakarta's success for Indonesia," he expressed, Friday (12/2).
As for the information, Katadata Insight Center (KIC) and East Ventures are venture capital companies pioneering technology startup investments in all fields and the most active in Indonesia giving awards to six provinces and 21 cities and districts with the highest index growth in EV-DCI 2022.
EV-DCI is a regional digital competitiveness map formed from three sub-indices, nine pillars, and 50 indicators. The sub-indices make up input, output, and support.
The pillars are formed from human resources, the use of information and communication technology (ICT), ICT expenditure, economy, entrepreneurship, and productivity. There are also employment, infrastructure, finance and regulation, and local government capacity.
The EV-DCI award was given at the Regional Summit, which is an annual event from Katadata.
This event, which has been running since 2020, aims to bring together stakeholders at the central and regional government levels, business people, and civil society to collaborate in realizing sustainable regional development goals.
Katadata Indonesia CEO & Co-founder, Metta Dharmasaputra expressed that the EastVentures Digital Competitiveness Index which is the basis for evaluating this award is produced every year by East Ventures in collaboration with the Katadata Insights Center (KIC).
To conduct a survey, his party has just launched Kurious, a survey platform that covers areas throughout Indonesia.
"Regarding the issue of sustainability, every year Katadata holds the Sustainability Action for the Future Economy (SAFE) event, which will enter its 4th year next year," he uttered.
Katadata Insight Center Deputy Head, Vivi Zabkie explained this award is a form of appreciation for the Jakarta Government's hard efforts in pursuing a level of digital competitiveness.
"We want to encourage and appreciate local governments that have worked to increase digital competitiveness," she stated.
She added that KIC and East Ventures also found several interesting initiatives conducted by the Jakarta Government in increasing its digital competitiveness in the research process.
"For instance, providing free wifi, MSME Go-Digital training, local marketplaces, infrastructure development to providing special programs to increase digital talent," she closed.
