Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama is optimistic that Jakarta would be free from traffic jam in 2016. As we know that Ahok has tried various ways to resolve it, one of them is by building the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT).

"Jakarta is very jammed. That's why, we've focused on the development of the mass rapid transit and surely it takes time. Considering, monorail had to be stopped," exclaimed Ahok, at City Hall, Thursday (2/5).

He acknowledged efforts to overcome traffic jam in Jakarta, including Transjakarta bus operational for 10 years is deemed failed. Believe or not, its failure lies on the inadequate infrastructure maintenance of the bus stop and bus, unoptimal e-ticketing system, bus procurement problem, and unsterile Transjakarta bus lane.

"PT Transportasi Jakarta has started its work. We will see whether they capable to give significant progress in a month ahead or not," he assumed. 

Former regent of East Belitung promised he will add Transjakarta fleet through e-catalog and implement electronic road pricing (ERP) systems in a densely area and electronic parking lot all over the city. "Our target is the end of 2016, all can be completed. We will do the best, give us time," he uttered.
