Handling Floods, Pasar Baru Prepares Five Evacuation Posts

To anticipate flood handling, the Pasar Baru Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta has prepared five evacuation posts to accommodate affected residents.

Pasar Baru Secretary, Nunung Nuryani said it is one of the steps to anticipate if the area is hit by a flood. Thus far, three RW areas are often affected by floods from the overflow of the Ciliwung River, namely RW 03, 04, and 06.

"We prepare five refugee posts completed with facilities and infrastructures. We also ensure the health protocol," she stated, Thursday (1/29).

According to him, the five evacuation points are in RW 04 where there is the Pasar Baru 11 Public Elementary School building which can accommodate 150 refugees,  the An-Nur Pasar Baru Mosque can accommodate 100 refugees, Ex Bakso Resto place in RW 03 can accommodate 300 refugees, and in RW 04, the Amal Ma'ruf Mosque and SMAN 20 Jakarta can accommodate 100 refugees each.

"We have coordinated with all the owners. We have also prepared RT/RW, Karang Taruna, FKDM, PKK, and Tagana to be ready to help when a flood comes," he explained.

For the availability of food, public kitchens, evacuation, security, and others, his party has coordinated with the related SKPDs.

"Hope there will be no flooding disaster but we are still anticipating it," he closed.
