Celebrate Christmas with Residents, Heru Emphasizes Value of Caring for Others

As reported before, Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono attended the Christmas Celebration at Ecovention Ancol, North Jakarta yesterday evening.

Let's make the city of Jakarta an example

The event facilitated by the Jakarta Provincial Government for Jakarta residents who celebrate Christmas was also attended by Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Prasetyo 'Pras' Edi Marsudi and his staff; Acting City Secretary, Uus Kuswanto; Jakarta BPKD Head, Michael Rolandi and his staff; Forkopimda members; FKUB members; and several Jakarta BUMD directors.

According to Acting Governor, the Christmas event with Jakarta residents this time could be used as a momentum to strengthen ties of love and concern among people. It was initiated by the Jakarta Government to become an example to maintain togetherness, especially in the diversity of religious communities.

"Jakarta is a city that has become a national barometer in maintaining peace and tranquility among people, as well as a reflection of any cities in Indonesia in strengthening a sense of togetherness," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release, Saturday (1/14).

He hoped that the same event should be a routine agenda. The Jakarta Government wants to send a message to the general public that Jakarta is a home for everyone, and promotes the principles of justice and equality in every aspect of life.

"This is the message we want to tell, regardless of the background, economic conditions, position, position, they are all the same. We must love one another, give one another, and maintain a sense of brotherhood. Let's make the city of Jakarta an example, as Jakarta is successful for Indonesia," he added.

Jakarta Satpol PP Vice Head who serves the event committee, Sahat Parulian Hutapea stated that the euphoria of celebrating Christmas with the Jakarta Government was very high considering that the celebrations had not been held in the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the committee still limited participants to the Christmas celebration to only 6,000 people for the comfort of the participants and health protocols.

"Mr. Governor agrees that we celebrate Christmas, as it has been two years in a row that we have not held a Christmas Celebration like this. We still apply for health protocols," he uttered.

As for the information, during the event, compensation actions were also carried out to representatives of the Tunaganda Rawinala (1 person representative), Melania Wreda Home (1 person representative), Muslim Orphanage Home (recipient of productive economic business cake equipment, 1 person representative), Street Children Foundation (Accuracy Kurnia Shelter, representative 1 person), Urban Village PPSU family affected by an accident while on duty (1 representative), as well as Satpol PP PJLP family affected by an accident while on duty (1 person representative).
