Water Level in Sluice Gates Began to Fall, Agency Says

Although low intensity rainfall still flushes Jakarta until Wednesday (2/11) morning, the water level seen decreasing at some sluice gates.

Only Angke Hulu sluice gate that still in Alert I status today

Operation Control Center Officer (Pusdalops) Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Desmanto said, according to his investigation at 12 sluice gates at 6 AM, only Angke Hulu sluice gate showed Alert I status by 300 cm of water level.

"Only Angke Hulu sluice gate that still in Alert I status today," said Desmanto, Wednesday (2/11).

Meanwhile, the water level in Karet sluice gate has decreased from Alert I status with 650 cm to Alert III status or 450 cm.

The same condition also occurred at Pasar Ikan sluice gate, Penjaringan , North Jakarta. The water level has dropped to 197 cm or Alert III status. Whereas, water levels at the area has reached 208 cm on last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, some of sluice gates are monitored still at Alert IV status such as Bendung Katulampa by 40 cm, Depok Sluice gate 125 cm, Manggarai 100 cm, Cipinang Hulu 100 cm, Sunter Hulu sluice gate 100 cm, Pulogadung 390 cm, and Pluit reservoir 35 cm.
