Satpol PP Guards Kota Tua Area Against Street Vendors

The West Jakarta administration continues to consistently protect the Kota Tua tourist area, Taman Sari against street vendors (PKL).

West Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Agus Irwanto expressed that as many as 260 personnel from the city and sub-district levels were deployed to guard the Kota Tua area against street vendors every day.

"We also get support from the army (TNI) and police to secure some points against street vendors not setting up stalls in Kota Tua's red zone area," he expressed, Sunday (1/22).

His party also took firm action against vendors who are still ignoring the rules.

"We're no longer appealing, but acting to confiscate illegal vendors' merchandise in tourist areas," he asserted.

He urged related regional apparatus organizations (OPDs) not to hold a pop-up bazaar that attracts illegal vendors inside Kota Tua.

"This is done to prevent chaos," he explained.

He was optimistic that this action would be able to discipline those who have been selling so far.

"By so, visitors will come to the coached location (Lokbin) to buy food and drinks," he closed.
