A Ciliwung River's Dam Collapsed

A Ciliwung River's Dam located at Jalan Talang, Pegangsaan, Menteng, Central Jakarta, collapsed and also damaged an inspection road, Tuesday (2/10), at around 2 AM. Thus far , the dam is currently still being repaired.

We intend to replace the sloping sheet pile with new ones

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, tens of officers and one heavy equipment type backhoe have been sent to repair the dam as long as 100 meters. While the damaged road, is still closed. 

Head of Ciliwung-Cisadane Flood Control Office (BBWSCC), Iskandar disclosed the collapse dam is due to fragile soils and incessant rain over two days. "If the cause was sheet pile, the 8-kilometer dam would collapsed but it doesn't," he stated, Friday (2/13).

He uttered, his side will re-build the dam totally. While for the sloping sheet pile will be replaced with new ones. Currently, the officers are conducting repairs to the collapsed wall.

"We intend to replace the sloping sheet pile with new ones," he stated.
