Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD)'s Commission B Secretary, Wa Ode Herlina supports the Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub)'s plan to shut down 27 U-turn points to parse congestion in Jakarta.

"I support that if what is meant is for smooth traffic so far," he expressed, Friday (2/10).

She revealed that congestion is a classic problem that still occurs in Jakarta besides flooding. Until now, the executive and legislative are still focused on solving this problem.

The handling of congestion carried out by the Jakarta Provincial Government included integrating ticketing services to implementing one-way roads at certain hours.

"If there are new regulations, there must be traffic engineering that makes residents comfortable," he explained.

Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo mentioned that the closure of the 27 U-turn points was carried out in stages and was expected to be completed in June 2023.

"It was decided based on the results of studies and simulations to prevent unwanted things. The study and evaluation were carried out using transportation software technology," he stated.
