Bina Marga Agency to Build New Sidewalks in Jakarta This Year

The Jakarta Bina Marga Agency will again build sidewalks in five city areas this year.

The sidewalks built can accommodate the needs according to the right portion

Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, Hari Nugroho said the total length of sidewalks to be built by 2023 will be 33.4 kilometers. It consisted of 17.8 kilometers by the Jakarta Bina Marga Agency and 15.6 kilometers by the Bina Marga Agency in five city areas.

He explained that the sidewalks construction in Jakarta this year still carries the same concept as the sidewalks that have been built/arranged before, namely Complete Street. This means that road space is built according to its function ideally and completely to accommodate all the needs of road users.

"The sidewalks built can accommodate the needs according to the right portion by prioritizing pedestrians, cyclists, and users of public transportation," he expressed, Tuesday (2/21).

It will be started in April or May 2023 and is targeted to be completed in the forthcoming November 2023.

Here is the plan for the sidewalks construction in Jakarta:

South Jakarta

- Blok M: Jalan Palatehan, Jalan Sunan Kalijaga, and Jalan Palatehan II

North Jakarta

- Jakarta Internasional Stadium (JIS): Jalan Sunter Permai Raya and on the south side of Jalan Danau Sunter Barat

East Jakarta

- Velodrome - Pulomas: Jalan Velodrome, Jalan Balap Sepeda, Jalan Kayu Putih Raya, and Jalan Matraman Raya

Central Jakarta

- Jalan Mas Mansyur Segmen Utara and Karet Intersection - Kebon Kacang Intersection

West Jakarta

- On the south side of Jalan Daan Mogot dan Jelambar Bus Stop – Jalan Daan Mogot I, and Jalan Mangga Dua Raya, which is also located in West Jakarta -North Jakarta
