West Jakarta Mayor: OPD Must Have 24-Hour Team to Handle Inundation

West Jakarta Mayor, Yani Wahyu Purwoko, instructed all related regional apparatus organizations (OPD) to have a 24-hour picket team to monitor and handle inundation in West Jakarta.

This team must be made in each OPD until urban village level as soon as possible

According to him, it must be realized soon, as recently it has been raining erratically. It aims to anticipate inundation, accelerate the handling of inundation, and help residents.

"This team must be made in each OPD until urban village level as soon as possible," he expressed, Saturday (2/25).

He cited that when it rained with moderate to heavy intensity which lasted quite a long time on Friday (2/24) yesterday which caused 15 inundation points with inundation heights reaching 20-30 centimeters in Tegal Alur, Kamal, Duri Kosambi, Rawabuaya, Duri Kepa and other.

Aside that, inundation handling in West Jakarta includes maximizing the availability of stationary pumps, mobile pumps, portable pumps, and pumping machines to speed up inundation handling. It was done while waiting for the completion of the polder construction in Kamal Urban Village, the construction of 1,400 meters of sheet pile in Pesanggrahan River.

"I also asked the Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency to be on standby at their respective posts for quick action when inundation occurs," he stressed.
