Here is Transjakarta's Effort to Stop Sexual Harassment on the Bus

PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) has alerted concierge officers and security officers on Transjakarta buses, which aims to prevent and minimize acts of sexual harassment on public transportation.

PT Transjakarta Secretary Division Head, Apriastini Bakti Bugiansri disclosed the concierge and security officers' placement is Transjakarta's efforts to increase the safety and comfort of customers, especially to suppress cases of sexual harassment in Transjakarta.

“Thus far, these officers have been on guard at bus stops. So, to prevent criminal acts on buses, especially cases of sexual predators, we're currently diverting these officers to guard the Transjakarta service buses," he expressed, Tuesday (2/28).

Besides security officers' placement, Transjakarta has also made efforts to expand the operation of its pink bus fleet specifically for women. They also have a special room for women in each bus fleet that has surveillance cameras (CCTV).

"Hopefully, the actions of sexual predators can be suppressed by the efforts we have made. We also urge female passengers not to worry about taking Transjakarta services," he stated.
