PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta), conducted canalization at the Kebayoran Skywalk to manage the mobilization of mass transportation users so they do not mingle with residents who just want to take selfies on the longest bridge in Jakarta.
This means that there is a canalization of passenger movements
PT Transjakarta Secretary Division Head, Anang Rizkani Noor said that his party was making a barrier for the flow of passengers from Kebayoran Lama Train Station to Corridor 8 and 13 Transjakarta bus stops, or vice versa.
"So, today's Kebayoran Skywalk already has a solution, a temporary barrier has been made. This means that there is a canalization of passenger movements, either train or Transjakarta. If there are passengers from the train who don't go to the Corridor 8 Bus Stop, they just have to go straight out. As for those who want to go to Corridor 8, they just have to turn around because the tap-in gate is already available," he expressed, Tuesday (2/7).
Acting Governor Heru Inaugurates Skywalk KebayoranHe explained that the canalization had started on Tuesday (2/7) morning. It was deemed to be a solution to complaints from residents who are not users of mass public transportation but want to capture the moment at Kebayoran Skywalk.
"This skywalk makes it easier for people to move and answer the complaints we received yesterday. It is provided to facilitate the mobility of the user community from Transjakarta and train or vice versa," he explained.
The same statement also came out from Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head, Syafrin Liputo uttered that the Kebayoran Skywalk was built to facilitate users of mass public transportation. However, for people who are not users who want to try the skywalk, thus canalization is carried out free of charge.
"For instance, from Kebayoran Train Station, residents will tap out on a machine that goes directly to the Transjakarta bus stop, both corridors 8 and 13. For those who stop their trip, a separation will be made in order to avoid double payments," he uttered.
He added that the canalization was still temporary but arrangements for community mobilization would continue to be evaluated and improved. Officers were also alerted to regulate the movement of residents crossing the 452-meter-long skywalk.
"The gate is still just a matter of adding separation. We have officers to guide the community. It is currently designated for integration. So, those who want to leave are automatically taken out from the inside, but it can also be taken from the outside just to take photos so they don't pay," he stated.
