According to him, the synergy between the Jakarta Government and the Central Government in constructing a crossing channel from the Ciliwung River to the East Flood Canal (KBT) also had a major impact on flood prevention in Jakarta plus the completion of the construction of the Ciawi - Sukamahi Reservoir.
"This crossing channel and Ciawi Reservoir are capable of reducing water discharge from upstream to downstream of Jakarta. The impact is already being felt today as seen from the water condition at the Manggarai Sluice Gate which is below normal," he explained.
Aside that, Jakatans' participation and awareness to actively deal with floods is currently getting higher, by no longer throwing garbage into the river.
"Hopefully, this awareness will increase day by day. So, flood handling in Jakarta can be better from time to time," he hoped.
