Joko Agus Setyono Appointed as Newly City Secretary

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono inaugurated Joko Agus Setyono as City Secretary at Great Hall, Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (2/15).

Setyono was appointed after passing through an open selection mechanism based on statutory provisions, namely referring to Law Number 5/2014 on ASN and Government Regulation Number 11/2017 on Civil Servant Management.

It is also based on Presidential Decree No. 13/TPA/2023 on Appointment of Middle High Leadership Officials under Jakarta Provincial Government.

"By giving thanks to the presence of God, today dated ob February 15, 2023, I hereby officially inaugurate you (Mr. Setyono). I believe you will carry out the task to the best of your ability," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He hoped that he could carry out the mandate properly, as well as continue and ensure cross-agency coordination in Jakarta can run smoothly.

With the relocation of the National Capital, he continued, Jakarta would become the center of the economy and business, thus the City Secretary post was needed who was capable and understood related to economic/financial management, especially in the process of managing the City Budget (APBD).

"I congratulate you. Of course, there is a lot that must be resolved and conditioned thus all the problems that must be handled can be carried out. Hopefully, you can maximize the OPD function in understanding the management of resources, such as assets and finances, especially in absorbing the APBD, thus it is efficient in its use ," he concluded.

City Secretary, Joko Agus Setyono said that he would immediately succeed in the Acting Governor's program. He assessed, the accelerated development must be handled immediately and reach the target.

"I thank you for being entrusted with being City Secretary. My job is to help him achieve government programs and various things in Jakarta, thus Jakarta will be better. Success Jakarta for Indonesia," he expressed.

Previously, he served as Representative Head of Bali Audit Board (BPK). With the experience he has, he is expected to be able to continue the development program in Jakarta to support the socio-economic conditions of residents who were weakened due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

On the same occasion, the Acting Governor also appointed Bayu Meghantara as Head of Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency. Previously, he had served as Mayor of Central Jakarta and Head of Jakarta Secretariat Bureaucratic Organization and Reform Bureau.
