PAM Jaya Supplies Clean Water for Pertamina Depot Fire Evacuees

As of today, 8,000 liters of clean water have been sent to fill the reservoirs

Jakarta-owned tap water company PAM Jaya has operationalized five water reservoir units to serve the needs of clean water for residents affected by the fire that hit the fuel storage depot operated by state energy company Pertamina in Plumpang, North Jakarta. They are now evacuated at Rasela RPTRA and North Jakarta PMI Headquarters.

PAM Jaya Service Director, Syahrul Hasan explained that the five reservoirs have been operating since Saturday morning to serve three units each at RPTRA Rasela and two units each at North Jakarta PMI Headquarters.

"As of today, 8,000 liters of clean water have been sent to fill the reservoirs," he said, Sunday (3 /5).

He ensured that PAM Jaya will be on standby for providing clean water support to fire survivors according to field needs. Since Saturday morning, the PAM Jaya tank fleet team has also been on standby at the location to help and ensure the availability of water for residents in evacuation or other locations if needed.

Moreover, his party still has reserves of three water reservoirs ready to be distributed. If needed, the placement and operation of the reserve reservoirs would be decided according to directions from Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

"We are sorry and concerned about the tragedy that befell our brothers and sisters in Koja. Hope this water can help residents," he stated.
