PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transkarta) is about to bring 129 new Transjakarta buses in the upcoming June. The additional bus is predicted to shorten a headway time up to 20 percent.

Besides 129 Transjakarta buses, we will also bring 200 units of Kopaja bus and 193 units of APTB

The buses that will be arrived in mid-2015 consists of 51 units of articulated buses brand Scania and 78 single buses. In addition, there are also 200 units of Kopaja bus and 193 units of Transjakarta Bus Integrated Border Transportation (APTB)

"Besides 129 Transjakarta buses, we will also bring 200 units of Kopaja bus and 193 units of APTB," expressed Director of PT Transjakarta, Antonius NS Kosasih, Wednesday (2/18).

He is also optimistic the transportation system this year will be much better compared to the additional Transjakarta bus fleet along with other city bus fleets. In addition, the headway time will drop significantly. "The headway time will drop 20 percent," he told.

Kosasih disclosed, the headway time is between 15-30 minutes. If the entire new fleet is operated in Jakarta, the headway time will likely drop 12-24 minutes.

"The additional fleet is also part of an effort to improve bus rapid transit service belongs to the city administration," he disclosed.
