Ahok Allows Central Govt to Have Transjakarta's Shares

The city administration opens an opportunity for some parties who would like to participate in the management of public transport modes in the capital, namely Transjakarta bus. Besides private sector, it also applies to central government, as long as they can be professional.

The important thing is we have the bus at an affordable fare

"If the central government wants to instill share in PT Transjakarta, it's okay, as long as they can be professional," said Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama at City Hall, Tuesday (2/3).

Ahok disclosed he allowed the central government to instill share in the Regional-Owner Enterprises (BUMD). This is because, the city administration wants the bus management becomes better with affordable fare.

APTB to Join with PT Transjakarta in Three Months

"The important thing is we have the bus at an affordable fare," he stated.

Even, he saw an opportunity if the management was managed by the central government, namely Transportation Ministry. By so, the bus ticket can be subsidized

"Thus, the subsidy is cheaper, like MRT," he exclaimed.

If the central government offers different things, such as direct management by the government and without the Limited Liability Company (PT), Ahok will firmly reject the plan. According to him, the management must be maintained professionally by using the status of the limited company.
