Satpol PP Demolished Buildings along Kali Sunter Riverbank

Satpol PP demolished 350 illegal buildings along Kali Sunter riverbank at RW 03 Jati Urban Village, Pulogadung East Jakarta, Wednesday (2/18). The effort was done to rearrange riverbank function as inspection road.

These buildings were known have no building license (IMB) and the presence also against the regulation. The majority of those buildings used as residence, restaurant, grocery store and public rest room.

"We have sent the warning letter and done the socialization. In fact, they ignored it. They have been living there for 20 years," said Ahmad Hariadi, Head of Pulogadung Sub-district.

Illegal Buildings Rampant Again in Tegal Alur Cemetery

According to him, some of building owners will be relocated to the flat. However, his side is still doing the record. The recommendation is only for citizens who have Jakarta ID card, and the buildings have kind of legality letter of tax document and so on.

"And for the citizens who have no authorized letter, we help to evacuate their stuffs using 5 trucks," Hariadi explained.

This controlling involved 200 joint officers form Satpol PP, Transportation Sub-dept., police and army. Heavy equipments were also deployed to ease the demolition.

Regarding to the information, from 350 buildings, 21 buildings were already demolished by the owner since last week.

Besides, only 37 citizens have Jakarta ID card Jati Sub-district, while others owned non-Jakarta ID card.

Riyadi (50), one of building owners at RT 04/03 Jati Sub-district claimed that he has been living for 12 years.

"Urban village and sub-district officer have recorded my data in order to allowed me stay in flat," Riyadi disclosed.
