Dinas Bina Marga Perbaiki 21.244 Titik Jalan Berlubang di Jakarta

Bina Marga Agency: 21,442 Potholes in Jakarta Repaired

Jakarta Bina Marga Agency has repaired 21,442 potholes in Jakarta from December 2022 to early March 2023.

The task force is always active in monitoring

Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, Hari Nugroho said the potholes were caused by age, rainfall, excavations, and landslides.

He revealed the Bina Marga Agency and Sub-agency continue to conduct monitoring for identifying potholes in all areas for repairs to be carried out later.

"The task force is always active in monitoring without waiting for complaints or reports from residents. We have repaired around 21,442 potholes," he expressed, Friday (3/10).

He explained potholes were repaired with quick patching with coldmix for minor damage. While medium and heavy damage were repaired using hot mix and concrete. Permanent repairs during the rainy season were not possible.

Therefore, what can be done is closing the hole temporarily using coldmix or hotmix with the patching method and modules while waiting for the rainy season to end and then carrying out permanent repairs with hotmix and concrete

"For temporary handling is with the same method of patching the module first. After the rainy season ends, we layer regularly using hotmix and concrete. For permanent repair, we use hotmix and concrete, where it takes one to two years," he explained.

He explained the Bina Marga Agency made an SOP for handling potholes due to high rainfall, starting from pre-inundation, during inundation, and post-inundation.

"Post-inundation, after it rains, there are usually many potholes on the road due to inundation. Do not let there be complaints from residents first and then work on it. Principally, when we see potholes, we will repair them immediately," he stressed.

He also implemented a performance appraisal system for Bina Marga Executing Unit Head in all regions, including in handling damaged roads and potholes. The higher the public complaint, their performance scores will be lower or vice versa.

"We have assessments for the Executing Unit Head throughout the region. The community's response to handling and complaints becomes an assessment, so they are active, when there are damaged roads or potholes repaired immediately. Don't let a complaint just be followed up. We also give awards to those with high scores," he uttered.

The following details the potholes in Jakarta that have been handled:

- Central Jakarta: 2,765 points

- North Jakarta: 3,759 points

- West Jakarta: 3,270 points

- South Jakarta: 3,465 points
