Inundation in 36 Neighborhoods and 3 Streets in Jakarta Has Receded

In an emergency, call 112 immediately. This is free and operates 24 hours non-stop

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) announces the inundation caused by intense rain yesterday and today that hit 36 neighborhoods and three streets spread over Jakarta has receded since noon, Wednesday (3/15).

Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji said light to heavy rain which poured in most areas of Jakarta and its surrounding on Wednesday (3/15) caused several sluice gates in 3 alert status, namely Manggarai, Karet, and Angke Hulu, as well as inundation at several points.

"Of 36 neighborhoods, three are receded in Cawang, East Jakarta; 29 neighborhoods are in six urban villages, South Jakarta; and four neighborhoods are in Kedoya Selatan Urban Village, West Jakarta," he expressed, Wednesday (3/15).

As for three streets receded were Jalan NIS, Cilandak Timur, Pasar Minggu; Jalan Puri Mutiara V, Cilandak Barat, Cilandak; Jalan Raya Bogor (HEK Red Light), Kampung Tengah, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta.

He explained the BPBD has deployed personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each area and is coordinating with the SDA Agency, Bina Marga Agency, and Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) to suck up the inundation.

"Also ensuring storm drain functions well together with the local urban village and sub-district heads. We're targeting the targeted inundation to recede quickly," he explained.

Seeing this case, the BPBD calls on the public to remain vigilant to potential inundation. "In an emergency, call 112 immediately. This is free and operates 24 hours non-stop," he stated.
