BPBD: No More Inundation in Jakarta Since Late Afternoon

Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that inundation in Jakarta had completely receded as of 6.30 PM, Wednesday (3/15)

This is due to synergistic efforts between related OPDs

Previously, rain with moderate to heavy intensity had flushed most of Jakarta since this morning, showing 3 alert status in Manggarai, Karet, and Angke sluice gates t and inundation at several points in Jakarta.

"This is due to synergistic efforts between related OPDs, namely BPBD, Water Resource (SDA) Agency, Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Agency, Bina Marga Agency, Environment Agency, Satpol PP, including urban village PPSU personnel with supporting equipment," expressed Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji, Wednesday (3/15).

Inundation in 36 Neighborhoods and 3 Streets in Jakarta Has Receded

He explained the handling of inundation carried out included deploying mobile pumps that were operated to suck up inundation and personnel to ensure the storm drains function properly.

"It also involved the roles of RT/RW, FKDM, and public figure," he explained.

Nevertheless, the BPBD calls on the public to remain vigilant to potential inundation. "In an emergency, call 112 immediately. This is free and operates 24 hours non-stop," he stated.
