The Central Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency keeps speeding up repairs to the poor water channel on Jalan Serdang Baru 8, RW 05, Serdang, Kemayoran. Until now, the repair, which began in mid-2021, has reached 60 percent.

Kemayoran Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Supriyadi said that repairs to the channel at the location were carried out for one kilometer by involving six workers equipped with manual tools.

"This is done to follow up on residents' proposal through Musrenbang 2020 and the request of Jakarta DPRD member in recess last year," he explained, Monday (4/10).

According to him, the channel damage was due to age. As a result, it could accommodate water optimally and cause overflowing water when it rains.

"Especially in RW 05, channel repairs are being conducted along one kilometer with a width and height of between 40-80 centimeters," he uttered.

Moreover, it is targeted to be completed by the end of this year considering it must take time due to limited personnel and the large volume of work that reaches one kilometer in length.
