Thousands of Workers Join May Day Rally in North Jakarta Today

Thousands of workers packed the Rawa Badak Stadium, Rawa Badak Selatan, Koja, North Jakarta, to celebrate a May Day protest today.

Hopefully, this rally will benefit us all

North Jakarta Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim expressed today's May Day is packaged differently than before. Because this year workers will no longer express their aspirations openly or on public roads.

"We invite workers to interpret May Day as a momentum with all stakeholders. It can create synergistic industrial relations in the future," he expressed, Monday (5/1).

Commemorating May Day, Jakarta Holds Social Activities to Help Laborers

With the theme 'Together on a Fitri Day', there are many social activities prepared for workers such as compensation for orphans, health checks, and free emission tests.

He hoped that it could build togetherness, thus it has an impact on increasing company productivity which ultimately improves the welfare of workers.

"Hopefully, this rally will benefit us all," he hoped.
