Heru Pushes Religious and Community Figures to Create Harmony Amidst Diversity

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono invited religious and community leaders to create harmony amidst the diversity of Jakarta's people and to make Jakarta's development successful.

Synergy with religious leaders and elements of society must be strengthened

He made the statement above when he attended a Gathering of Religious and Community Leaders at East Jakarta Administrative City Level, Wednesday (5/10).

According to him, religious and community leaders were exemplary figures who were able to share examples of the application of empathy and tolerance between religious adherents in a bid to prevent the emergence of racial conflicts and social problems in society.

He deemed harmony to be an important foundation for realizing Jakarta's ideals, namely Jakarta's success for Indonesia.

"Synergy with religious leaders and elements of society must be strengthened for the success of development and making Jakarta a safe home for Jakartans," he expressed, when he opened the gathering at East Jakarta Mayor's office.

He welcomed the gathering activity which is in line with the theme being carried, namely Knitting Harmony in Diversity towards Success Jakarta for Indonesia.

It could be a platform to strengthen the role of religious and community leaders in sharing an understanding of the importance of maintaining inter-religious harmony in the lives of the diverse people of Jakarta. He assessed, knitting harmony is something that must be upheld.

"We unite for us for Indonesia. The ranks of the Jakarta Government will sincerely and without boundaries build Jakarta, the integrity of Jakarta and for all levels of society. It doesn't discriminate. We want to make it, thus people can work safely and comfortably," he stated.
