Polemic of City Budget, Kemendagri to Mediate Pemprov and DPRD

Home Affairs Ministry intended to mediate between Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) with Jakarta City Council (DPRD) related to problem in 2015 City Budget.

Finance Director General of Home Affairs Ministry, Reydonnyzar Moenek said, his side has planned the mediation to hold on Wednesday (3/4) and Thursday (5/4). Moreover, his side also hoped the polemic can be solved through the mediation.

"We facilitate City Council and Provincial Head to mediate related to City Budget Draft evaluation result. We wait until Thursday, there will be a solution," he said, Tuesday (3/3).

He admitted, yesterday, Jakarta City Council's representative has come to Home Affairs Ministry to discuss about 2015 City Budget. The arrival is unofficial, but we still welcome them to listens the problem.

"Their arrival is informal only to submit a complaint. We respect it, and we directed them to submit any objections at the mediation," he added.

His side also believes to could be a good referee related to this problem. Jakarta City Council also asked to follow the procedure if they want to re-send the City Budget because his side only receives the documents in accordance with the procedure.

"Send it officially through mechanism and formal procedure. Then, we will respond it formally too," he uttered.

He asserted the administration process should not be hampered by political dynamics. Moreover the government organization should continue to run because it involves the citizens' interest in Jakarta.

"Government organization should continue to run. Legal certainty and public service should be guaranteed. The council also agreed with that," he uttered.

In this mediation, The Home Affairs Ministry hoped that both sides could use the opportunity to clarify. So the problem in 2015 City Budget can be completed immediately.

"It is impossible if Provincial Government have no City Budget. This problem is purely regional administration, so we try to mediate and give them facilitation to clarify the problem together," he explained.
