Jakpro Involves KPK to Minimize Potential for Fraud and Corruption at Jakarta E-Prix 2023

PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) held hearings in order to convey improvement initiatives related to the process and administration of 2023 Jakarta E-Prix.

The hearing at KPK building, Kuningan, South Jakarta was attended by PT Jakpro's Director for Business Support, Solihin and Finance Director, Adrian Rusmana, as well as Anti-Corruption Director for Business Entities, Aminuddin.

PT Jakpro's Corporate Secretary Vice President, Syachrial Syarif expressed his party in the hearing provided a report on professional business processes and the use of the budget which was entirely obtained from business to business (B to B) cooperation without using City Budget (APBD) for Jakarta E Prix which falls on June 3 - 4.

He explained the meeting shared a thorough explanation regarding preparations for the Jakarta E-Prix starting from venue and track readiness, ticket sales, entertainment, and the forms of cooperation that exist with partners.

"Jakpro has a strong commitment to realizing governance reform, encouraging business partners to take actions that are open, transparent, and accountable according to the principles of good corporate governance," he explained, in a written statement, Tuesday (5/23).

He went on to say that this monitoring activity was aimed at minimizing the potential for fraud and corruption and reducing the negative perceptions that are developing in today's society. This step was solely the company's initiative in a bid to maintain public confidence in the international motorsport event which will be held next month.

"Jakpro hopes that KPK will always give support and assistance on the governance of the implementation of activities, and jointly promote corruption prevention measures to all parties involved in organizing the forthcoming Jakarta E-Prix," he continued.

To strengthen the foundation and governance, he added, Jakpro together with Formula E Operation (FEO) team are in the process of forming an ISO representative team in order to supervise implementation in accordance with ISO 20121:2012 Event Sustainability Management Systems, thus the purpose of implementing sustainable events can be achieved.

"We have also passed through several internal improvement steps including restructuring the Jakarta E-Prix organizing institution, thus the implementing unit is more professional and has integrity, is independent and free from conflicts of interest. It makes Jakpro more prepared in terms of governance and running international standard events," he added.

Anti-Corruption Director for Business Entities, Aminuddin positively welcomed the initiative. His party fully supports Jakpro's efforts to prevent corruption at Jakarta E-Prix event.

"KPK fully supports Jakpro's efforts to prevent corruption in accordance with GCG and corporate governance norms. I'm sure that with better management, this event will be successful," he said.
