KPK Prepares Three Teams for Corruption Prevention in Jakarta

Hopefully, Jakarta becomes a comfortable place and free of corruption

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is set to deploy three task force teams to conduct supervision and coordination in 2023 in order to follow up on the Jakarta Provincial Government's request to prevent corruption cases.

The statement was conveyed by KPK Vice Chairman, Alexander Marwata in In the opening of the Corruption Prevention Seminar held by the Inspectorate Hybrid on Thursday (15/12).

According to him, three teams of Task Force would have different tasks. Some are specific to supervising the management of the City Budget (APBD), Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), and technical offices.

All this time, the point of attention and the most vulnerable to leakage was a budget related to the procurement of goods and services and concerning licensing.

"To other provinces, we just sent two teams. It is because Jakarta has a huge budget, so we work in three teams. Hopefully, Jakarta becomes a comfortable place and free of corruption," he said.

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono uttered that with three teams, the agency did not need to hesitate anymore in carrying out their duties. His party also requested guidance from the KPK about the prevention of corruption cases in Jakarta.

"Please guide us, prevention will always be put forward. If the service is doubtful, please be guided by the existing task force and the inspectorate," he stated.
