Djarot : 2015 City Budget Remains Using e-Budgeting

The meeting between Jakarta Governor and Vice Governor with Home Affairs Ministry to discuss 2015 City Budget's polemic had ended.

From the meeting, e-budgeting was agreed to be used in 2015 City Budget. Moreover, Jakarta Provincial Government and Jakarta City Council will be brought together to conduct further discussion.

"We agree to use e-budgeting. That is the meeting result after consultation, clarification, mediation, and evaluation with Home Affairs Ministry," said Djarot Saiful Hidajat, Jakarta Vice Governor, at Home Affairs Ministry Office, Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (3/4).

Furthermore in the closed meeting, the government also agreed to not disturb service for the people of the capital with this budget polemic. "Because of that, we are focusing to solve the budget's problem immediately so we can give maximum service for the citizen," he said.

Djarot told, his side would still respect the council's right about the inquiry right.

"We hoped the City Budget would be completed immediately, while about the inquiry right, we also appreciate that as with legal process that reported to Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and Criminal Investigation Directorate," he uttered.

Home Ministry's secretary general, Yuswandi Tumenggung said, besides Jakarta Provincial Government, his side would also invite Jakarta City Council to clarify. Moreover, these two institutions will meet today, Thursday (3/5).

According to him, the Ministry has 15 days to issue an approval letter after Jakarta Provincial Government sent City Budget Draft. However, the budget completion is targeted to be done before the time limits runs out.

"Although the scheme given to Home Affairs Ministry is 15 days, if we can complete it faster, why not?," he disclosed.

Moreover, he ensured, if there is no agreement in the clarification and mediation process, the Ministry has the authority to decide because there is only one valid budget. "There is only one valid budget," he said.
