Seribu Islands Deputy Regent, Muhammad Fadjar Churniawan welcomed the use of small islands in his territory. This effort was deemed to be able to preserve coastal areas while also protecting marine ecosystems.

"There are conditions for the use of small islands. This must be done by the island caretaker for better results," he said, Wednesday (6/7).

He assessed today's meeting could also form the same perception regarding the management of small islands. Hence, the program would be the main focus for the local government to be realized immediately.

"This is also to equalize perception. Thus, coordination is easy to do maximally. Because there are several ministries involved," he expressed.

Indonesia Army shows Major General Heri Wiranto explained the islands in Seribu Islands not only belong to the government, but also to the private sector. The potential of the Jakarta waters area was very high, so it should be utilized properly.

"We carry out these findings and coordination meetings to determine which islands have the potential," he said.
