Jakarta Civil Servants under Jakarta Provincial Government will be registered on the program of employment Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS). It is targeted to be realized in the upcoming April 1.

Head of Jakarta Employment BPJS Regional Office, Rizani Usman said there are two programs included for civil servants. Those are work accident and life insurance. It is in accordance to the Presidential Regulation No.109/2013 on Phasing in the Membership of Social Security.
"BJPS is given to Jakarta civil servants and non-civil servants in order to prosper their family," he said, after meeting with Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama, at City Hall, Friday (3/6).

The amount of the premium rate is varied, from 0.24 percent of a month salary, up to 1.74 percent for high risk job. While for life insurance's, is 0.3 percent of a month salary, pension insurance 5.7 percent of a month salary in which 2 percent taken from employee salary, and 3.7 percent paid by company.
Head of Jakarta Employment Agency (BKD), Agus Suradika uttered all this time, more than 70 thousands of employees have not been registered on BPJS due to its legal protection is still on verbal process.
"The point is, BPJS will be used to increase employee's prosperity such as pension and life insurance. If it was previously using people's welfare's budget. And now it will be managed to BPJS that has higher benefit than we managed," he finished.
