120 Dancers Enliven Cultural Parade to Celebrate Jakarta's Anniversary

Jakarta Culture Agency's Development Field Division Head, Puspla Dirdjaja said today's parade is part of a series of events to welcome Jakarta's 496th anniversary which aimed to introduce regional culture to the wider community.
"Today, we are holding a parade of two different cultures, consisting of Betawi culture and Sundanese Peacock Dance," she expressed.
Jakpreneur Bazaar in Central Jakarta to Enliven City's 496th AnniversaryHer party presented 120 dancers, six ondel-ondel community groups, and tanjidor music groups from several areas in Jakarta.
The series of events starting from June 3-25, 2023 would also be held in public spaces, tourist attractions and shopping centers.
"Hopefully, it can add insight to Jakarta residents about several cultures in their area," she hoped.
Gema Citra Nusantara Chairwoman, Mira Arismunandar uttered she was working with the Culture Agency and several other communities in holding the Betawi Cultural Parade and Sundanese Peacock Dance.
"I really hope that the next generation of the nation will love Indonesian arts and culture," she hoped.
Bagas Wicaksono (22), a resident of Kebon Kacang, Central Jakarta admitted that he was very enthusiastic about participating in the parade from Sarinah bus stop to Jalan Imam Bonjol from 6.30 AM to 9 AM.
"I joined the parade because I wanted to know the local culture in Jakarta area," he admitted.
According to hum, this cultural parade was able to broaden his knowledge of local wisdom.

Selamet Budiman (37), a resident of Kembangan, West Jakarta was happy to witness the cultural parade held in CFD area. It was deemed very stunning and useful for residents.
