Heru Accompanying President Jokowi to Visit Menteng Pulo Market

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono accompanied President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo to visit Menteng Pulo Market, South Jakarta, Thursday (6/15).

Rice is safe

The President's visit was to see the price situation for a number of basic needs, especially inflation after Idul Fitri.

"What we saw earlier was that red onions were at Rp 44,000 to Rp 45,000 per kg from previously only Rp 32,000 to 34,000 per kg. I think that's all," Jokowi stated.

He also checked the availability of several basic commodities in the market. According to him, rice stocks are still safe and under control.

"Rice is safe. The rice that was medium was sold for Rp 9,000, Rp 9,500. I was also surprised that there was Rp 9,000. Oil is also still at Rp 14,000, eggs are down at Rp 31,000," he explained.

Previously, he arrived at Menteng Pulo Market at around 10.08 AM. He then went around checking prices and greeting, as well as distributing a number of social assistance to traders and locals.

On that occasion, he was also accompanied by Cabinet Secretary, Pramono Anung and South Jakarta Mayor, Munjirin.
