Holding Blood Donation, Jakarta BKD Prepares 2,300 Bags

The Regional Employment Agency (BKD) is holding a simultaneous blood drive from 19 to June 20, 2023.

This blood donation is a form of high concern and solidarity for others

It is opened at Jakarta City Hall and Mayor offices.

Jakarta BKD Secretary, Etty Agustiani said the Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to continuing to help the community through regular social and humanitarian activities.

As social beings, she assessed, humans have a responsibility to help others in need.

"This blood donation is a form of high concern and solidarity for others. That a drop of blood can help many people in need," she expressed, Tuesday (6/20).

She explained the Jakarta BKD regularly carries out two blood donation drives every year which donors from ASN and non-ASN circles can benefit from. He hoped that the participation of employees and the public to donate blood would increase every year.

"Because besides helping others in need, routine blood donation is also beneficial for the health of the donors themselves," she explained.

Jakarta BKD's Performance and Award Division Head,  Mardi Dwi said as many as 2,300 blood bags were provided for the two days of blood donation. They are 300 blood bags at City Hall and 400 blood bags in each administrative city area.

"City Hall targets to collect 300 bags considering most participants are employees, while in the city area there are urbwn village and sub-district officials also from the general public," he explained.

He assessed public awareness to donate blood can help meet the availability or stock of blood at PMI, thus it benefits other people in need.

"If blood donation has become a lifestyle, it will certainly affect blood stocks in Jakarta. The limited blood stock in Jakarta can be overcome," he stated.
