Fire Razes 20 Houses in Cipinang

A massive fire gutted 20 houses in Gg. Sodong Timur 3 and 4, RT 04/17, Cipinang Urban Village, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Tuesday (3/10). The incident triggered by electrical short-circuit was first seen from one of the citizens' house named Lasmini (57) around 11 AM.  

There are no casualties in the incident but the losses are estimated reaching Rp 1 billion. Temporary allegation, the fire is triggered by electrical short-circuit

But, the fire then rapidly spread out to next house after the strong wind blows.  

Six Houses on Sunter Agung Completely Burnt

Sobar, (40), one of the witnesses said the flames initially was only seen on the second floor of Lasmini's house. But, Lasmini was only busy evacuating her valuables, instead of rescuing her life.

Locals tried to put out the flames using the sober tools, but they failed. Due to this incident, as many as 60 families were forced to fled.

"When the fire grew up, Mrs. Lasmini only focused on her valuables. We then forced her to get away to rescue her life," he told. 

Head of Operation Section for East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Handling Sub-Department, Moelyanto revealed his sub-department has deployed 20 fire trucks to put out the flames. 

"There are no casualties in the incident but the losses are estimated reaching Rp 1 billion. Temporary allegation, the fire is triggered by electrical short-circuit," he explained.
