The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Agency (KPKP) is trying to stabilize the price of broiler chickens on the market, which currently reaches Rp 90,000 per head.
The stock availability of broiler chickens is currently still safe
Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati said, in anticipating soaring chicken prices in the market, her party implemented the 4K strategy, namely affordability, availability, distribution, and effective communication to the public.
For affordability, her party conducted market operations for five consecutive days, from Monday (7/10) to Friday (7/14).
Staples Prices in Koja Baru Market Tend to Be Stable"It will certainly affect the price of chicken on the market, as we sell it at affordable prices for the public," she expressed, Friday (7/14).
As for availability and distribution, her party synergizes with Perumda Dharma Jaya. The number of chicken needs per day are always calculated. Once the numbers are known, Perumda Dharma Jaya would prepare cooperation with outside parties for distribution supplies.
"I assure you, the stock availability of broiler chickens is currently still safe. Because Dharma Jaya also continues to cooperate with the surrounding area for the availability of chickens," she explained.
The supply prepared by Dharma Jaya is not only fresh cut chicken, but also frozen which is stored in the refrigerator.
As for the information, the six slaughterhouses in Jakarta are capable of producing 750 to 900 chickens per day for the needs of the community, hotels, restaurants, and catering.
Her party also actively establishes communication with the public regarding the increase in the price of this chicken. People should know the price of fillet or bondless chicken is indeed much more expensive than whole chicken, as what is sold is only the meat.
"Society must distinguish between chicken fillet with whole cut chicken," he said.
