Dharma Jaya to Build Protein Supermarkets

Perumda Dharma Jaya is set to build a protein supermarket with the name 'Djawara Meat and Grocery' to facilitate public access to Djawara animal food products.

"This protein supermarket is an extension of the existing meat shop in Cakung, in front of Perumda Dharma Jaya office. We'll improve this meat shop again, thus the place becomes more representative," expressed Peruma Dharma Jaya's Business Director, Feldiansyah, Monday (7/17).

The construction itself would be executed in three phases. The first phase was protein supermarkets will be built in three locations, namely, in front of Perumda Dharma Jaya office, Jalan Raya Penggilingan, Cakung, East Jakarta with an area of 2,000 square meters.

The second location, Jalan Mampang Prapatan Raya, South Jakarta with an area of about 400 square meters and next on Jalan Anggrek, in front of Rawa Badak Market, Koja, North Jakarta which has an area of about 650 square meters.

The second phase was they would build Protein Supermarkets in six locations in Jakarta. For the location, Dharma Jaya is looking for a strategic location.

As for the third phase was they would open a protein supermarket franchise, thus the number of protein supermarkets would increase in the futurw, and not only in Jakarta, but also areas outside Jakarta.

"For the first stage, it is still in the planning process, such as a feasibility study and design details, in order to find out the estimated construction time. The plan is for the construction process to be carried out in the 4th quarter of 2023. The construction will be realized in stages, precisely in Cakung, Mampang, and Koja. This is the target for 2024 to have everything operational, hopefully in the 4th quarter of 2024, " he explained.

He continued the difference between a meat shop and a protein supermarket is that apart from the vastly different size, it can also be seen from the design and layout, which will have the concept of a modern market with supermarket management.

They wanted to change from simple store management to self-service management with professional supply chain management planning.

"In the future, the facade or design of the protein self-service face will be used as branding and corporate identity. We want to give the impression that if you enter a supermarket, people will understand and know that if you enter a Djawara Meat and Grocery supermarket. That's why, besides selling their own products, Dharma Jaya will partner with several animal food producers," he continued.

While the three locations for the phase one supermarket construction were land owned by Dharma Jaya. Aside that, the market share in these three locations is larger and there are no branches there yet. He added, with the existence of increasingly widespread protein supermarkets, it would be easier for people to get animal-based food products.

"It can also increase the commercial business of Dharma Jaya. That's why, we will open a protein supermarket that is representative, more convenient, and complete. Hopefully, with the protein supermarket branches in these three locations, it can increase the exposure of Dharma Jaya products," he closed.
