Next Week, Vendor's Shelter JS 33 on Jalan Cipaku Demolished

A street vendor's temporary shelter JS 33 on Jalan Cipaku 1, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, will be demolished, even though its vendors have not been registered on relocation plan to Santa Market close to the shelter or about 500 meters long. The demolishment is slated to be carried out next week.

The shelter will be transformed into a green belt and a road. We offered them (vendors) an option to be relocated to Santa Market

“The shelter will be transformed into a green belt and a road. We offered them (vendors) an option to be relocated to Santa Market,” said South Jakarta Mayor, Syamsuddin Noor, Friday (3/13).

Sellers Refused to Register in Santa Market

Moreover, Noor stated the shelter licensing has expired. They supposed to understand that they already had opportunity to occupy the land more than 15 years. “As you know, the land is owned by Jakarta Provincial Government," he asserted.

He asserted such demolishment is compliance with the existing procedure. Considering, his party had sent warning letter three times and demolishment warrant (SPB) this week. “We'll do demolishment on next Tuesday,” he asserted.

The shelter itself have 42 kiosks with various type of businesses. They are starting from food, barber shop, workshop, and material store.
