As reported earlier, the car free day would jazz up Jalan Suryopranoto, Gambir, Central Jakarta, which falls on Sunday (3/15). At the same time, the Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department scheduled to close and divert the road to smoothen its implementation.

During car free day, traffic diversion will be imposed

“During car free day, traffic diversion will be imposed,” said Head of Central Jakarta Transportation Department, Muslim, Friday (3/13).

While for the road closure will be imposed in the same place, starting from Harmoni intersection-Timur Cideng intersection. Road users coming from Jalan Majapahit and Jalan Veteran will be directed to take turn onto Jalan Hasyim Ashari, likewise Jalan Kyai Caringin and Jalan Barat Cideng will be diverted to Jalan Hasyim Ashari.

“For Cimone route which passing through Jalan Tanah Abang I will be diverted to Jalan Tanah Abang II-Jalan Cideng Timur or Barat,” he uttered.

He added, socialization has been done through banner and brochure in five areas, such as Harmoni intersection, Jalan Tanah Abang I, Jalan Cideng Timur, Jalan Suryopranoto and Jalan Kesehatan.

“We also sent official letters to police and offices along Jalan Suryopranoto. Hopefully they can avoid or take alternative road during car free day," he uttered.
