Dishub to Apply Traffic Diversion on 29 Roads for ASEAN Summit in September 2023

The Jakarta Provincial Government applied traffic engineering management on 29 roads for the smooth implementation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit which takes place on September 5-7, 2023 in Jakarta.

Residents are urged to do their activities by using public transportation

Besides succeeding in the activity, the policy above also helped create a sense of security and comfort for the ASEAN Summit delegates.

Jakarta Dishub Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo stated during the ASEAN Summit, with details of the side events taking place on September 2-4 and the main event on September 5-7, the delegates would stay at 18 hotels in Jakarta and take part in a series of events in five locations, namely State Palace, St. Regis Hotel, ASEAN Secretariat Office, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), and Gelora Bung Karno City Forest Platform (GBK). Therefore, his party made traffic diversion management on the roads passed by the delegates.

The traffic diversion management implemented on 29 roads is by situationally opening and closing the roads when the delegation's vehicles pass by. Some roads are closed for two hours.

"For instance, the delegates leave at 7 AM, then the road will be closed from 6.30 AM to 8.30 AM. That's why, we urge people to avoid road areas around the location of the ASEAN Summit and follow alternative routes that have been prepared," he expressed, at City Hall, Thursday (8/24).

Those 29 roads included Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto, Jalan Galunggung, Jalan RM Margono Djojohadikoesoemo, Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur 5.

Then Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur 2, Jalan Karet Pasar Baru Timur 3, Jalan Prof Dr Satrio sisi Barat, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Jalan Wahid Hasyim, Jalan Gerbang Pemuda, Jalan Pintu Satu Senayan, Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Jalan Pattimura

Jalan Trunojoyo, Jalan Gunawarman, Jalan Majapahit, Jalan Ir Juanda, Jalan Veteran III, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Lingkar Mega Kuningan, Jalan Lingkar SCBD, and Jalan Setiabudi Tengah

There are alternative routes prepared for the ASEAN Summit activities at St. Regis Hotel on Saturday (9/2) at 9 AM and on Sunday (9/3) at 10 AM, namely traffic from South (Cipete) heading to West (Slipi) or North (Monas), drivers can go through Jalan Kyai Maja - Jalan Kebayoran Baru - Pondok Indah Arterial Road - turn around at U-turn in front of Gandaria City - Jalan Teuku Nyak Arief - Jalan Tentara Pelajar and so on.

Traffic from North (Harmoni) to South (Blok M), drivers can go via Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat - Jalan Budi Kemuliaan - Jalan Abdul Muis - Jalan Fahrudin - Jalan KH Mas Mansyur - Jalan Penpurnihan - Jalan Pejompongan - Jalan Tentara Pelajar - Jalan Teuku Nyak Arief - Jalan Kebayoran Baru - Jalan Kyai Maja - Jalan Panglima Polim - and so on

Traffic from East (Tebet) to West (Slipi), drivers can go via Jalan Kapten Tendean - Jalan Wolter Monginsidi - Jalan Trunojoyo - Jalan Kyai Maja - Jalan Kebayoran Baru - Jalan Pondok Indah Arterial - turn around at U-turn in front of Gandaria City -  Jalan Teuku Nyak Arief - Jalan Tentara Pelajar - Jalan S. Parman - and so on

Then traffic from West (Slipi) to East (Tebet), drivers can go via Jalan S Parman - Jalan Pejompongan - Jalan Penpurnihan - Jalan RM Margono - Jalan Galunggung - Jalan Dr Saharjo - Prof Dr Soepomo - Jalan MT Haryono - and so on

There are four alternative routes for the ASEAN Summit activities at the ASEAN Secretariat on Saturday (9/2), Sunday (9/3), and Monday (9/4), namely traffic from South (Cipete) to West (Slipi ) or North (Monas), drivers can go via Jalan Kyai Maja - Jalan Kebayoran Baru - Jalan Pondok Indah Arterial - turn around at U-turn in front of Gandaria City - Jalan Teuku Nyak Arief - Jalan Tentara Pelajar -and so on

Traffic from East (Cawang) to West (Slipi), drivers can go via Jalan Dr. Soepomo - Jalan Dr. Saharjo - Jalan Prof Dr Satrio - Jalan KH Mas Mansyur - Jalan Teak Bunder - Jalan KS Tubun - Jalan Brijen Katamso - Jalan S. Parman - and so on

Then from West (Slipi) to East (Tebet), drivers can go via Jalan S Parman - Jalan Pejompongan - Jalan Penpurnihan - Jalan KH Mas Mansyur - Jalan Prof Dr Satrio on East side - Jalan KH Abdullah Syafei - Jalan Prof Dr Soepomo - Jalan MT Haryono - and so on

As for the ASEAN Summit activities held at Sultan Hotel - State Palace from Tuesday to Thursday (September 5-7, 2023), an alternative route has been prepared, namely traffic from South (Cipete) to West (Slipi) or North (Monas), drivers can go through Jalan Kyai Maja - Jalan Kebayoran Baru - Jalan Pondok Indah Arterial - turn around at U-turn in front of Gandaria City - Jalan Teuku Nyak Arief - Jalan Tentara Pelajar

Traffic from North (Kota Tua) to South (Blok M), drivers can go via Jalan Suryopranoto - Jalan Balikpapan - Jalan Cideng Timur - Jalan KH Mas Mansyur - Jalan Penjernihan - Jalan Pejompongan - Jalan Tentara Pelajar - Jalan Teuku Nyak Arief - Jalan Kebayoran Baru - Jalan Kyai Maja - Jalan Panglima Polim

Traffic from East (Tebet) to West (Slipi), drivers can go via Jalan Kapten Tendean - Jalan Wolter Monginsidi - Jalan Trunojoyo - Jalan Kyai Maja - Jalan Kebayoran Baru - Jalan Pondok Indah Arterial - turn around at U-turn in front of Gandaria City - Jalan Teuku Nyak Arief - Jalan Tentara Pekajar - Jalan S Parman

Then traffic from West (Slipi) to East (Tebet), drivers can go via Jalan S. Parman - Jalan Pejompongan - Jalan Penjernihan - Jalan RM Margono - Jalan Galunggung - Jalan Dr Saharjo - Jalan Prof Dr Soepomo - Jalan MT Haryono.

By doing so, the Car Free Day (CFD) along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman - MH Thamrin on September 3 will be abolished.

Therefore, the public is urged not to carry out any activities in the area. If they want to do activities, they are prompted to use public transportation, such as MRT which will have an added trip schedule, and Transjakarta which will continue to operate normally.

"During the ASEAN Summit, residents are urged to do their activities by using public transportation. Because, once we use private vehicles, it will cause high traffic density and congestion. Hopefully, this condition won't happen because we receive foreign guests, so we hope that everything will go well," he asserted.
