As reported earlier, the Jakarta Provincial Government implemented work from home (WFH) and work from office (WFO) systems, in accordance with City Secretary Circular Letter Number 34/2023 on Official Duties from Home, Monday (8/21).
Compliance with these provisions is expected to create a more productive and sustainable work environment
This policy is in the context of supporting the upcoming 43rd ASEAN Summit and also an effort to reduce air pollution levels in Jakarta.
Jakarta Regional Employment Agency (BKD) Head, Etty Agustijani said in its execution, the BKD guarantees that official duties and services will continue because each Regional Working Unit (SKPD) is responsible for compiling the schedule of its employees. It is because the SKPD knows the duties and roles of its employees.
Air Quality in Jakarta is in Medium CategoryRegarding supervision, if employees break the code of conduct as stated in the letter, they will be subject to sanctions according to applicable regulations.
"The schedule made certainly does not interfere with SKPD services. For supervision, the employee's direct supervisor will carry out monitoring and SKPD is responsible for the employee. For employees who are WFH, the attendance system is carried out using a mobile application while wearing official uniforms," she expressed, in the Jakarta Government's press release, Monday (8/21) night.
According to the circular letter, official duties from home are given with a maximum limit of 50% from August 21 to October 21, 2023 and a maximum of 75% from September 4 to 7, 2023.
As for the information, this system is given to Regional Devices/Bureaus which does not provide operational and/or direct support services to the public and could not be carried out through digital media/applications.
On the first day of the system, Jakarta Government employees have implemented WFH in accordance with the provisions stipulated in City Secretary Circular Letter Number 34/2023, taking into account the strength of the organization and services.
As of Monday (8/21) afternoon, the BKD had not received any reports regarding service problems from the community during the implementation of WFH. It shows a positive response as the beginning of the steps for implementing the WFH-WFO work system. It is a good momentum in supporting the commitment of the Jakarta Government to play an active role in reducing the impact of air pollution and traffic regulation regarding the activities of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, including improving work efficiency through the WFH-WFO scheme.
"Compliance with these provisions is expected to create a more productive and sustainable work environment," she closed.
