The Jakarta Provincial Government under the leadership of Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono received an Appreciation Award for Indonesian Leaders in the Infrastructure Acceleration category from the Tempo Media Group. Various efforts to accelerate infrastructure to support resident mobility are a concrete manifestation of the Acting Governor's priority program, particularly in controlling congestion in Jakarta by encouraging the use of public transportation. The success of the construction of mass public transportation is expected to drive the progress of Jakarta and the pace of Indonesia's economic growth, thus realizing Jakarta's Success for Indonesia.
Aside that, the Ciliwung Sodetan construction was also accelerated to divert 60 m3/second of water to the East Flood Canal which would be completed before the rainy season. It is one of the steps to deal with flooding in parts of Jakarta which is carried out in synergy with various parties.
The Indonesian Figures Appreciation event is a form of appreciation by Tempo for figures who contributed to development in their respective regions and at the national level. Tempo gave appreciation to local governments for their achievements in various fields.
PT Tempo Inti Media President Director, Arif Zulkifli uttered that Indonesia is so vast and big, that not everything can be controlled in Jakarta. Thus, the regional government's role is important as the front guard that directly comes into contact with the community in meeting their basic needs.
"Regional heads must be able to provide the best public services, know what the people's needs are, both in urban and rural areas, to remote, outermost, and disadvantaged areas, and look for opportunities to make the role of the state felt for their residents," he stated.
