The Jakarta Provincial Government together with Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Jaya once again held the Mohammad Hoesni Thamrin Journalistic Award 2023. It is a form of consistency in realizing press freedom, as well as supporting education for the public to always have access to accurate and reliable information.

Jakarta Communications, Informatics, and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) Acting Head, Sigit Wijatmoko expressed his appreciation to the journalists who participated in the event. According to him, it could be a self-starter to continuously contribute to building the city of Jakarta.
"My appreciation goes to all related parties who have initiated this competition, as a form of effort to continue the struggle of Mohammad Hoesni Thamrin, as well as to appreciate the dedication of journalists in providing accurate information to the public. It can be done through various best journalistic works in the form of writing, photos, audio, and visual," he expressed, at Great Hall, Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (8/24).

PWI Jaya Chairman, Said Iskandarsyah uttered that the Mohammad Hoesni Thamrin Journalistic Award is a prestigious event to appreciate the journalistic work of all journalists in Jakarta. PWI Jaya always pays close attention to the Jakarta Government through writings on urban dynamics written from a balanced perspective.
"The goal is how the writing can very well oversee the running of the wheels of government," he explained.
"There are surely also our writings that are useful as suggestions, input, and even self-reflection for the government. If there are positive posts, it means that it is a form of our appreciation as residents for the government's performance that is running properly," he added.

- Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H. as Chair of Tarumanagara Foundation for an inspirational young figure
