The Jakarta Provincial Government won an award as the best Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) for the category of provinces in the Java and Bali regions at the 2022 TPID Award.
This award was achieved due to the good synergy and cooperation
This award was received for the success of the Jakarta Government in maintaining the capital's inflation rate in 2022.
The TPID Award trophy was directly handed over by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo to Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono at the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) 2023 for Inflation Control at the State Palace, Jakarta Presidential Palace, Thursday (8/31).
Bank DKI Receives Two Award Categories for Infobank Award 2023The Acting Governor said this award could be achieved because of the synergy and good cooperation between Jakarta Regional-owned Enterprises (BUMD) engaged in food security, namely Perumda Dharma Jaya, PT Tjipinang Food Station, and Perumda Pasar Jaya, with the Jakarta Government, representative of Jakarta Branch Bank Indonesia, and other stakeholders.
"This award was achieved due to the good synergy and cooperation between the Jakarta Government, BI and Jakarta BUMD in reactivating the subsidized food program. Surely, we must keep maintaining this well-established communication, thus we can produce policies for food security that can control inflation," he expressed, in the Jakarta Government's press release.
Therefore, in the future, the Jakarta Government will keep coordinating with Bulog regarding data synchronization to control national food security.
"For instance regarding rice, last Thursday, we coordinated with Bulog. Then regarding food information, if there is a production area that has excess food stock, then we will buy it to take to Jakarta and we will do market operations," he explained.
He went on to say that the challenge in controlling inflation in the future was the El Nino wind which resulted in a fairly long dry season. Another obstacle is the ongoing economic slowdown.
Facing these obstacles, the Jakarta Government had taken anticipation by strengthening the social safety net through the allocation of the social safety net budget in the 2023 Revised (City Budget) APBD and 2024 APBD.
"Previously, the President also conveyed to the programmed community, they would be given 10 kg of rice for three months. For the distribution of this rice aid, the Central Government really needs data. Currently, the Jakarta Government is processing the data, so that the people who receive it are right on target. Jakarta will supply data from the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) and Targeting Data for the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Elimination (P3KE)," he asserted.
Meanwhile, the President expressed his gratitude to TPIDs in all regions of Indonesia who have worked hard to control national inflation.
"My big thank you to the Inflation Control Team, both at the central and regional levels, as well as governors, regents, mayors who work together, thus national inflation can be controlled. We know it is very controllable at 3.08 percent in July 2023. This is a very good number," he uttered.
